What to program into my mind?

Everything is programming your mind. Thoughts, actions, content.
If you become aware enough of your own thoughts you can softly start moving your attention to things you choose.
Then the natural question is: what is a good program to install in our human operating system? I.e. what to focus attention and thoughts to whenever one wakes up and realizes one has been lost in thought?
I’m not sure. Here are my current hypotheses:
- Awareness. Be conscious. Like a meta-observer of your own life and actions. Doing this more and more should cause it to become second nature and eventually expanded consciousness.
