We will forget this moment

--

Memories can’t fully represent this moment. Only the present can. With all its emotion, stimuli, thought and being — it is full. Memories are only a shade of what we have now. I laugh because I know my future self cannot comprehend this moment. It is marvelous.

We forget everything. Only a small piece of reality is held in memory — a hint, a fragrance, a shadow of the real thing. It is sad and beautiful at the same time. It is sad because, well, we forget even the strongest experiences we have had. We might think we remember them but in reality, the memory is so much less than the experience. It is also beautiful because this focuses life on the present — nothing more and nothing less.
