Opportunity, Energy, and Learning

For a long time I’ve tried to tackle the problem of how to have energy to live and do the things I want. Energy seems to be fleeting, coming and going as it pleases. The latest solution to this problem is this: see the opportunity in every moment to learn about yourself.

Whenever you realize there’s an opportunity to do something there is a tremendous release of energy. Have you noticed?

This energy is released and you can go about realizing the said opportunity. Now, what kind of opportunity is always around us — in every relationship and action you do?

It seems that whenever you are around people for longer periods of time you get to learn them. What type of personality they have, how they work, and so on. This goes for being around different environments as well — you get to learn the ins and outs of said environment. However, in this learning about the environment and people in it, there is the opportunity to get to learn yourself as well! In every moment, if you are awake, conscious, you are able to see and learn more about yourself.

As mentioned, this opportunity gives energy to every moment if you realize it is there. Energy to be more awake, more aware. Which results in doing better in whatever you are doing — as well as the added benefit of actually understanding how you work, the totality of your being.

It has some clear energy advantages in the present — with the long-term advantage of getting to know yourself, compounding interest.

It is such a clear, valuable resource for learning — a resource that is there all the time if you are present to see it. Hopefully, we can see this opportunity together in ourselves — and take the opportunity — feel the energy released. Carpe diem et carpe noctem.
